Meghan McDermott

Meghan McDermott is a 2006 graduate of The Hartford Conservatory with a double major in dance pedagogy and dance performance. She has danced professionally for dancEnlight, Sonia Plumb Dance Company and the Judy Dworin Performance Project. Meghan is the founder of Moxie Dance Company and Moxie Dance Center. She currently dances and is a member of IMMIX Dance Project. In addition to her professional dance career she is also on dance faculty for Westminster School and choreographs and performs for the West Hartford Community Theater. Meghan is also a certified Barre Fitness instructor and teaches for Lifer Fitness Studio and Designed Training.

Zoe Allard (Founding Member)

Zoe Allard began her training with the Northeast Academy of Dance in CT at a very young age. Upon attending the University of Saint Joseph, Zoe became an active member of the Dance Ensemble developing it from a club into a funded program. As a member of this program, Zoe danced for Sonia Plumb Dance Company, the Woodman Dance Project, and choreographed several works, many of which were featured in the 5x5 Dance Festival and also brought to the American College Dance Association Festival. Zoe began working work Premier Dance School during college and remains there as the Assistant Director. She has also taught for Dance Unlimited in Hamden, CT, Ballet Theater Company, and Stafford Academy of Dance. Zoe is a teacher for Moxie Dance Center and the Assistant Director of Moxie Dance Company. Zoe is also a Special Education teacher for a private educational facility in CT and barre fitness instructor.

Patrice Hayes (Founding Member)

 Patrice has been a dancer for 19 years and a fitness instructor for 7 years. At the University of Saint Joseph, she danced and performed with the dance ensemble for 3 years.  Her love of dance inspired her to get certified to be a Zumba instructor in 2014. After college, she went on to join Moxie Dance Company. In addition to dancing with the company, Patrice also teaches barre classes in the West Hartford area.

Alida Lamagna-Kendell

Alida Lamagna Kendell has been teaching numerous styles of dance for ages 3 to adult in the Hartford area since 2010. She is currently on faculty at Dance Progressions in South Windsor, CT and Dance Step of Berlin, CT. Her ballet background began at Connecticut Concert Ballet and continued to expand to modern, jazz and contemporary styles at the University of Saint Joseph where she served as President of the Dance Ensemble. She has performed professionally with Attak Dance Company, Sonia Plumb Dance Company and most recently Moxie Dance Company. During her time with Sonia Plumb Dance Company, Alida served as Rehearsal Director and performed on the Bushnell Stage in Hartford, CT. Alida’s choreography has been featured at the annual 5x5 Contemporary Dance Festival both as a student and as a professional. Alida also had the honor of teaching at the National Association of Dance and Affiliated Arts (NADAA) Convention in 2018. Alida’s love for dance is evident in her passion for teaching and making dance accessible to as many people as possible.

SazJanee Stringer

Originally from Connecticut, Sazjaneé started dancing in a non conventional way. With liturgical dance being her foundation her love for expression and movement grew from there. She attended the University of Hartford as a Musical Theater major and continued her college career at Eastern Connecticut State University where she was apart of the African Dance company Wumala. Sazjanee has been a big part of the community dance activities in Hartford Connecticut, her annual Community Renewal after school hip hop program for dis advantaged youth is going on it’s 3rd year. Her dance career has now come full circle as she heads the liturgical dance department at her church almost 20 years later. 

JR Falcon

JR grew up dancing around the Hartford CT area at Dance 10 Performing Arts Center and Connecticut Concert Ballet.  He graduated from Hofstra University with a degree in Dance.  After Hofstra, he moved back to Hartford and danced with Judy Dworin Performance Project and Moxie Dance Company.  Most recently, he appeared onstage at Ivoryton Playhouse in their production of "A Chorus Line."  When he is not performing, he can be found teaching jazz and contemporary at several local dance studios or behind the watch counter at Lux Bond & Green, West Hartford.

Madison Ramsay

Originally from Connecticut, Madison has been a modern dancer for 10 years. After graduating from Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, Madison went on to get her B.A. in Dance as well as her B.A. in Theater from Rhode Island College. She now enjoys spending her time teaching dance, choreographing, dancing, and acting in both Rhode Island and Connecticut areas. 

Ellie Maillet

Ellie Maillet is a 20-year-old dancer from Ellington, Connecticut. She mainly dances modern and contemporary, but has grown up also being trained in jazz, tap, and hip-hop at Toriography Dance Center. She has been apart of the dance corps for multiple musicals including Grease, Anything Goes, and Memphis. She has danced in Anne Cubberly’s Night Fall. She hopes to continue to inspire through art and dance in the future.
